Understanding how the brain develops through childhood and adolescence
What are we studying?
We hope to identify biomarkers of autism. These remain unknown today, which is why Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is still diagnosed based on behavioral observations, rather than brain scans.
How can you help?
We are currently inviting children and adolescents with or without a diagnosis of ASD aged 7-21 years to participate in this study. If your child falls in this age range and has no metal implants or history of neurological disorders, he or she may be eligible to participate.
What’s involved?
Diagnostic & Cognitive Assessments
Participants will be asked to answer some simple questions and complete tasks like drawing and solving puzzles, and parents will complete some questionnaires.
Practice Getting Scanned
Participants will have a practice MRI session to learn how to complete the word reading task.
Brain Scans
Participants will get to have an MRI scan and an MEG scan, which will allow us to collect information about brain structure and function.
Get Compensated
Participants will be compensated for their time, and will also receive a picture of their brain!
